休みの日には、大学受験の浪人生のような生活に戻っている。仕事と買い物以外は外出せず、根を詰めて特殊分野の勉学に励んでいる。そのため、ここでちょっと一息、と思い、川奈を訪れた。だが、昨日に通過した低気圧のせいか、うねりが大きい。若干の危険性が拭えないため、場所を移ることになった。
On my days off, I've passed the life like a ronin student again who studies to
pass a college entrance exam after high school with going to a preparatory
school. I don't go out except for work and shopping, and I study hard about the specialized field. So, I thought I wanted to take a break at this timing, therefore I decided to visit Kawana. But the ocean swell is large, probably because of the
low pressure that passed yesterday. As a slight danger couldn't be excluded, we had to move to another location.
An instructor gave me a few possible locations. At the moment, a news footage that a humpback whale was spotted off the coast of Tagonoura in Suruga Bay
そこで候補地をいくつか挙げていただいたのだが、10日に駿河湾の田子の浦沖でザトウクジラが目撃されたことが頭に浮かぶ。差し出がましいとは思いながらも、一山超えた西伊豆の平沢でのダイビングをお願いした。

to dive at Hirasawa in West Izu just which is located just over one mountain.
平沢は駿河湾のさらに内湾なので、いつも穏やかである。相当な悪天候でない限り、ダイビングに支障はないと聞いている。
Hirasawa is an inner bay of Suruga Bay. So the sea is always calm. I have
heard that unless the weather is extremely bad, there is no problem with
enjoying scuba diving.
1ダイブ目は残念ながら、しばらく使っていなかったカメラが不機嫌で、起動してすぐに自動停止しており、撮影されていなかった。動画にこそ相応しいの情景に遭遇していたので、インストラクターさんが２ダイブ目も同じコースを巡ってくれた。
Unfortunately, on the first dive, the camera automatically stopped to move as
soon as it was turned on. I haven't used it for a while. Was the camera in a bad mood? So, no footage was recorded. However, we came across a scene that
was perfect for a video. Therefore, the instructor took us on the same course on the second dive.

浅瀬では、ボラの赤ちゃんが大量に群れている。アオリイカと同様、魚類の赤子も警戒心がまだ希薄なようで、間近を横切ってぐるぐる泳いでいる。

平沢のダイビングショップからは、雲のない日だと真正面に富士山を望める。つい今しがたまで潜っていた駿河湾超しに、富士を楽しめる。
On a cloudless day, we can see Mt. Fuji directly ahead from the diving shop in Hirasawa. We can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji across Suruga Bay in which we
played the scuba diving just now.
お世話になっている川奈のショップでは昨年、常連のダイバーの方々から月ごとに写真を募り、ショップオリジナルのカレンダーを作成していた。嬉しいことに、投稿した産卵床のアオリイカの写真が5月のカレンダーに採用されていた。

photo of the bigfin reef squids around a spawning bed which I submitted was
chosen for the May calendar.
ダイバーには、可愛い微小生物の写真撮影を楽しむ方が多い。私は動画専門なので、後日、動画を流しながら気に入った場面を幾らでも切り取ることができる。この一瞬を収めたい！というひりつくような撮影魂ではない卑怯さがあるため、何となく忍びない気持ちが拭えないものの、動画ならではの瞬間と評価していただいたような心持ちがし、今後の励みになっている。とてもありがたい。
with watching the video later. Because I don't have their enthusiasm that "I want to capture this moment!", I can't help but feel sorry. But as I thought that the
staff evaluated the moment that only the video could capture, the fact
encourages me for the future. I am very grateful.
